Chartwell Shoppers Empower Waikato Women 

Chartwell Shopping Centre is proud to share the incredible success of its recent ‘Donate & Receive’ campaign in support of Dress for Success Hamilton, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping women in the Waikato, achieve economic independence through professional clothing, styling advice, and career support.

Over the course of the campaign, which ran from 5 – 21 August 2025, generous shoppers donated more than 3,250 pieces of high-quality, gently used women’s workwear. In return, Chartwell offered each donor a $15 Chartwell gift card as a small thank-you for the gesture of kindness.

“We were overwhelmed by the response from our shoppers,” said Linda Jackson, Marketing Manager at Chartwell. “This campaign really struck a chord with our community. People loved the opportunity to give back in a tangible way, and it’s been heartening to see so many women supporting other women.”

The donated items, including blazers, blouses, skirts, and other work-appropriate clothing pieces have been passed on to Dress for Success Hamilton, who will distribute them to clients in need. These women may be preparing for job interviews, heading into new roles, attending court proceedings, or navigating other significant life events where confidence and presentation are key.

“The clothing we receive through initiatives like this helps us change lives,” said Erin Andersen, Executive Manager at Dress for Success Hamilton. “When a woman walks into an interview dressed professionally, feeling supported and confident, the impact is huge. It’s not just about clothes. It’s about dignity, empowerment, and belief in what’s possible.”

“We’d like to sincerely thank every person who took the time to donate.” says Jackson. “Your wardrobe cleanout has made a real difference and its proof that when we come together as a community, even small actions can have a big impact.”
