The April 2025 school holidays were buzzing with excitement as kids (and plenty of grown-ups!) explored the World of Science activation here at Chartwell Shopping Centre.

The free activation, held in Centre Court on Level 1, featured hands-on exhibits and daily live shows, which offered a fun and exciting way for everyone to dive into the world of science.

We partnered with the Science Roadshow, a trust dedicated to providing quality, interactive learning experiences in science, technology and innovation, to deliver this activation, and it was clear from the smiles and repeat visits that it was a hit for all ages!

Each day during the World of Science activation, kids and their grown-ups gathered for two incredible shows:

• Planet Earth: a show that explored nature’s hidden cycles and the energy systems that power our planet.
• Balloons & Bernoulli: a show that revealed the science of air pressure, flying objects, and how things float and spin.

In addition to the shows, there was a wide variety of interactive exhibits, which were in constant use. One visitor shared, “I shopped at Chartwell on Saturday and observed the World of Science in action. Absolutely brilliant — children and parents were involved and excited with the displays! These sorts of interactive educational activities are a fantastic opportunity for children to explore, learn and develop.”

Another customer commented, “I just wanted to compliment you on the science event. My grandkids have been here three days in a row and absolutely loved it. Thank you!”
